Blaine Pardoe's book on Frederick Zinn has been retitled to Lost Eagles (from Final Fate) and will be published in the fall of 2010 by the University of Michigan Press. Initial review by aerospace historians has been outstanding. "Lost Eagles is going to break new ground on two fronts -- Michigan history and military aviation. It is more than just the biography of Frederick Zinn, it is the story of how America dealt with missing airmen in two world wars."
Blaine is currently working on a true crime book as well. This title covers a real-life murder in Marshall Michigan in the 1960's. Mr. Pardoe hopes to be able to release more information on this project shortly.
Blaine is still researching a book on Weston Bert Hall Jr. If you have any information on Bert Hall that you would be willing to share, please feel free to reach out to Mr. Pardoe. "Much of the material I have surfaced recently is new on Bert Hall and when this book is done, it will offer new insights into the man. I am taking my time on this book since the Lafayette Escadrille is such a highly researched unit. "
Mr. Pardoe has been brought in by Catalyst Games for their new product, Leviathans! This alternate history project involves the introduction of new technology that allows for flying dreadnoughts at the turn of the 20th century. "Given my background in both WWI naval history and WWI aviation, this seemed to be a perfect fit. Leviathans! is a dynamic game and is proving to be a lot of fun to work on. I've known the leadership at Catalyst Games for a long time and we have a great working relationship. This was a perfect fit for me with a team I really respect."
Coming out shortly in Over the Front, the journal of the League of WWI Aviation Historians, a detailed article that Mr. Pardoe has written with Alan Roesler on Ivan Andrew Roberts - Frank Luke's wingman. This article will feature a number of unpublished photographs of Ivan as well as the first look into his incredible piloting career.
